Frequently Asked Questions

We provide stargazing experiences for private, 1-2-1, couples, family, groups, corporate, schools, scout associations and weddings. We also host public stargazing events with our various partners across England and Wales. On any stargazing evening our knowledgeable astronomers will come along with a high quality telescope which can be set up from your home (or somewhere close to home) and take you on a tour across the night sky so you have more time exploring space, seeing incredible celestial sights and less time worrying about how the telescope works, what to look for and where to find the objects. Clear skies are precious and we don't have an abundance of them in the UK, so you don't want to miss the window of opportunity. Come and see the best celestial sights the night sky has to offer.

Included in the standard price of a stargazing experience is space for up to 6 friends & family to attend your experience. This can be extended up to 12 people max with an additional cost. We also offer group stargazing events/sessions (+12 people) as well as stargazing for schools, corporate events and weddings. Contact us for more information.

We require full payment up front at the time of booking unless you are paying via BACS then payment is required upon receiving an invoice. Once payment is made you will receive a booking confirmation and your date is secured. 

If you have arranged a 'spread the cost' option then your T&CS and payment dates will be on the invoice. Any outstanding payments are required to be settled prior to the go ahead of your experience date. 

If your experience can't go ahead due to dense cloud coverage (>50%) or extreme weather events then we will re-book a new date with you and continue to do so until we are able to complete your experience. The average number of attempts is 1-6 before we are able to complete someone's experience due to poor weather. On the rare occasion it goes beyond 6 attempts please refer to our refund policy, as we will either offer another date or a refund if your circumstances fit our policy. 

We are happy to do your stargazing experience from home. We would recommend checking out our important information page that will help you assess whether your home location is suitable or not. If you need any advise please get in touch and we can assess your garden. 

If you need to cancel your experience for any reason then please let us know ASAP.  Our refund policy is as follows:

• Gift stargazing experiences are NON-REFUNDABLE - gift cards contain an expiry date on the card. (This is usually post-dated to the time you will receive or another specified date that has been agreed).
• Direct bookings for stargazing (non-gift card related) When will a refund be offered? After 6 unsuccessful attempts have been made to complete your stargazing experience (within a 12 month period) as it typically takes 1-6 attempts to complete an experience due to the weather. If you’ve had 6 unsuccessful attempt within 12 months, and you’d like a refund then please contact us directly, otherwise we can continue to re-book and try again. When won’t a refund be offered? If you fail to re-book at least 6 times within a 12 month period then unfortunately we won’t offer a refund. Also, if you decide to cancel any bookings less than 72 hours before a booked date. 
• No use of service - if you have paid and fail to contact us to rebook a date within 12 months of your original booking, no refund will be offered. 

Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the time you receive them or for whenever the expiry date is set. This allows your recipient 365 days (366 if it's a leap year), which is 8750 hours, or 525,600 minutes to get booked in with us. If they book in their stargazing sessions with us and it goes beyond the expiry date then the recipient needn't worry as we will extend the expiry date. 

Unfortunately we don't offer the hiring of telescopes. Please check our telescopes page as you can hire from our recommended partners Rother Valley Optics. 

Forecasting systems are not perfect. If during your experience it becomes too cloudy and we haven't managed to complete at least 75% of your experience time then we will rearrange with you to come back and finish it. 

i.e. We won't redo if: 

1hr experience booked - 45mins has elapsed 

1.5hrs experience booked - 1hr 5mins has elapsed

2hrs experience booked - 1.5hrs has elapsed.

We operate our experiences in England/Wales & Scotland if requested, wherever people want us to go stargazing. Our prices include travel to any location that is ≤50 mils from Stratford-Upon-Avon, CV37 9DA. If your location is >50 miles then additional fuel costs apply - click here.

Our spread the cost option can be useful if you don't have the money straight away or want to spread the cost to make a stargazing experience more affordable. There is 0% interest on the overall cost and this option is only available via BACS payments or for experiences that are booked 2 months in advance and for gift cards.
