Frequently Asked Questions

We provide personal, couples, family, group, corporate, and school stargazing experiences. We also host events with our partners Mission Astro and on behalf of Experience Hampshire. On any stargazing evening our knowledgeable astronomers will come along with a high quality telescope which can be set up from your home (or somewhere close to home) and tour you through the night sky so you have more time exploring space, seeing incredible celestial sights and less time to worry about how the telescope works and where to find the objects. Clear skies are precious and we don't have an abundance of them in the UK, so you don't want to miss the window of opportunity.

Included in the price of a personal stargazing experience is space for up to 6 friends & family to attend your experience. This can be extended up to 12 people max with a small additional cost. We also offer group stargazing events/sessions (+12 people) as well as school , corporate and wedding stargazing experiences. Contact us for more information.

We require full payment up front at the time of booking unless you are paying via BACS  then payment is required upon receiving an invoice. Once payment is made you will receive a booking confirmation and your date is secured. 

If you have arranged a 'spread the cost' option then your T&CS and payment dates will be on the invoice. Any outstanding payments are required prior to the go ahead of your experience date. 

If your experience can't go ahead due to dense cloud coverage (>50%) or extreme weather events then we will re-book a new date with you and continue to do so until we are able to complete your experience. The average number of attempts is 1-6 before we are able to complete someone's experience due to poor weather. 

We are happy to do your experience at home. We would recommend checking out our important information page that will help you assess whether your home location is suitable or not. If you need any advise please get in touch. 

If you need to cancel your experience for any reason then please let us know ASAP.  Our refund policy is as follows:

Gift experiences are non-refundable and expire 12 months from the time you receive the gift card in the post. Expiry dates are voided when a booking is confirmed.

Direct bookings (non-gift card related) Refunds will be offered after 6 attempts have been made to complete your experience, as it does typically take 1-6 attempts due to the British weather. After your 6th unsuccessful attempt has been made, if you’d a full refund then please contact us - novastargazinguk@gmail.com. 

Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the time you receive them. That's 365 days (366 if it's a leap year), which is 8750 hours, or 525,600 minutes. You'll have plenty of time to book :)

Unfortunately we don't offer the hiring of telescopes. 

Forecasters make mistakes from time to time, no-ones perfect. If during  your experience it becomes too cloudy  and we haven't managed to complete at least 75% of your experience time then we will rearrange with you to come back and finish it. 

i.e. We won't redo if: 

1hr experience booked - 45mins has elapsed 

1.5hrs experience booked - 1hr 5mins has elapsed

2hrs experience booked - 1.5hrs has elapsed.

We operate our experiences in England/Scotland/Wales,  wherever people want us to complete their experience. Our prices include travel within a 20 mile radius of our home base in Stratford-Upon-Avon and if you are further a field you can check out our additional fuel costs here.

Our spread the cost option can be useful if you don't have the money straight away. There is 0% interest on the overall cost and this option is only available for experiences that are booked 3 months in advance and for gift cards.
